i running the 1st gen EVC and i can not get more than 12psi (holding). i'm also running the TC59 turbo. i checked for all leaks, vaccum lines and even bought a new internal WG. it'll hit 15-16 psi and drop to 12psi. what is causing the boost not to hold. i even tried switching the evc over to a manual boost controller and having the same problem.

any input would be great.

Garrett gt35r......................:biglaugh:

Sorry Stokeless, but I couldn't resist. I don't even know how the gt35r compares to your turbo. It's the one I"ve got and I love it though.
Good luck, Jay

We have turbo experts on here but I'm not one. I remember when I had my ct26 and was dynoing a long time ago. It would spool to 15psi, but it wouldn't hold it. It would always drop back to 12psi. I didn't know why then and I still dont'. Sorry that I can't help.

Send Doward a pm. He is our turbo expert.

That's an awfully small turbo. You might have maxed it out.

The sweet spot for a T04e/CT hybrid is right around 15 psi.

I'm not familiar with your particular turbo however. Doward should be able to help.

I know Turbo Concepts didn't make their own turbos. Anyone know what Garrett unit this thing is based off of?

I went to their shop and spoke to the owner and he measured my old turbo; the hks sport bolt-on/to4e hybrid and it was a bit smaller then this turbo. 55 ind and 70 exd. so this turbo is actually larger than the hks unit. the hks unit dynoed 380wrhp at 18psi. this turbo is about par to the 60-1 upgrade ct. i was told but with better spool. sweet spot for this turbo should be 17-18 psi
