1. 12V @ inj. w/key on.

2. gnd pulse from ECU
2a. no CPS signal @ ECU = no spark + no inj. pulse

OK Here it goes.

1. Yes I have 12V at all injector plugs w/ key on.

2a. Not sure about the CPS signal at ECU, but I am pretty sure I have that because I do have spark but no inj. pulse

2. Ground pulse from ECU, I dont think I have well if I am understanding what you are saying.

Here is what I did, I found the three injector wires that come out of the ECU. Each wire controls two injectors. Those wires run from the ECU to the injector resistor so I did a beep test.

Beep test is as follows:

Tap into one injector wire and put the pos/neg lead there dont think it matters positive or negative and take the other lead to the injector resistor on the harness side and have the DMM on the BEEP mode, checking for continuity and when the cra is cranked the DMM should BEEP everytime the injector should fire. So all I am getting is a constant beep from the point I touch the lead to the pin on the injector resistor. But that happened on all three wires. So whats the deal here? What is going on or what am I doing wrong. I swapped in a post 89 injector resistor and pre89 injector resistor off of running cars and still no inj pulse.

Any help from here would be fantastic because I am stumped.

Maybe it that time for a NEW HARNESS!

THX in advance.....

If you are getting spark, and have fuel pressure and your computer is pulsing your injectors but your car still is not starting - remove your valve covers, set your engine to TDC and check if your cam gears are installed using the correct dowel holes.

At TDC the exhaust cam should be in the 2 o' clock postion and your intake should be in the 10 o' clock position. The cam gears should be installed using the center dowel position and not the left or right.

My engine builder used the left and right dowel hole respectively after he rebuilt my engine when installing the cam gears . This put the intake and exhaust cam lobes for the number 1 cylinder in the 12 o' clock position. He said that is how it is done on the 4ages. My engine wouldn't start until that was corrected. When I tried to start it I got fuel fumes coming through the afm.

OK I am getting spark and have 38PSI in the rail and have double checked and yes i do have fuel in the rail but when I did the beep test mentioned earlier in the thread I did not get any injector pulse. But when i touched one of the leads to the injector resistor and the other to the wire near the ecu for the inj. All I got was a constant BEEEEEEEEEP. Even when cranking, I figured it was suppossed to be something like BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP... something like that. So I really dont think my injectors have any pulse from the ECU for the inj's.

The cam and gears are on the center dowel, I double checked that BTW.

So all I have left to say is to fix this problem with pulsing the injectors from the ECU or what is up with that constant BEEP?

Maybe I am in for a new wiring harness, who knows. THX 4 the help.

Any suggestions towards the problem now?

Pics of said cps position with cover off like we discussed.

@ TDC nonetheless.

k- realize the inj. are fired by the ECU grounding them. so, you should be checking continuity to ground when cranking....then again, chances are your meter is NOT fast enough to catch the injection pulse.
