Car studdering

I have been having a studder, sort of. When I'm in some kind of traffic and and holding very slight part throttle or slowing with the clutch engaged for a short time. When I get back on the gas it while buck or if i give it more gas it will just stall out completely for a few seconds then come back to life suddenly. If I'm crusing down the freeway every once it a while it will have a split second lose of power and then its fine again. It seems to have gotten worse yesterday and it was our first really warm day but it continued to do it as it grew into night as well. I have researched alot of threads and can't seem to figure out what it is. I am throwing no codes some how. I'm thinking it might be spark plugs. even though they're new I had my coolant hose split(the one coming out the back of the block) and spray coolent into my spark plug galley and I had to soke it all up before I could move again. I didn't get it all out and was missing a cylinder for about 50miles to my dad's house. Do you guys think I just need new plugs or is it something else? Last thing is my coolant gauge isn't working never has since I bought it. could that be it. Sorry it was so long.

Sounds to me like an enrichment problem. Perhaps related to MAFT-pro settings?
I don't have the maftpro in yet I have the wires hooked up but I haven't cut the one wire yet and dont have the maftpro on. I had the problem prior as well. Thanks though if it is an enrichment prob. then I should be able to fix it with the maftpro. You think my plugs getting water in them like that could make it so they now have weak spark and that could be causing the rich condition? I did have the car running with the water in there for a while.

Heh, I've had the same problem on and off for a while. Never got any codes for months. It then got to the point where it is now (Parked safely until maft pro comes).

I finally got the code 31 I believe..if thats theone for short to afm. At startup it idles fine until warmup then it fluctuates. At 2%-20% (estimate) throttle it would bog down almost to a stall (bringing on the engine light), but with more throttle it jumped right up as if nothing were wrong and the engine light would shut back off. I swapped in another afm hoping it would help with no luck. Don't know if you have the same problem, but it sounds close.

You could have a bad connection between the meter and the ECU. It seems to be a fairly common thing reading these posts.

That or there is a lot of over oiling the K&N style filters.

Trying to use the maft to fix it is only attacking the symtom. Get to the root and make sure the car is running properly before adding new mods. GL
