I did a search and I found an '05 thread about someone getting there key stuck in their ignition and turned out he just had to shift the gear selector around to get it out. This was the closest thread I found to getting help, so I had to post:
I have an 87 N/A, and when I turn the car "off" and take the key out, it still runs. I had to put it in gear and stall to shut it off. There was an alarm on the car but it has been disabled and I removed the wiring as well, I also tried tapping the brake when I removed the key and it doesn't shut off, which is a feature of remote starters...since I wasn't sure if it was just an alarm on tere or an alarm/starter. What I want to know is what the problem could be, and if it can be fixed replacing the part where I insert the key. I can get my hands on another one, but, if this is what I have to do then could someone point me to where I can find a diy or step-by-step in removing this piece?
If worse comes to worse I know a mechanic I can get to check it out, but he isn't a supra expert like some people on here and furthermore I wanted to get it dones this weekend and he won't be able to come by this weekend.
Thanks for the help in advance everyone, if I made a mistake in posting please point it out, I've read the rules and tried to get familiar with them and am sure I'm not breaking any of them. Once again, Thanks! :1zhelp:
