Badass price.
Badass car.

You will enjoy. Car loan is good for your credit. Try to do it without cosign. Put $600 down and loan the rest, that'll get you better rate.

Have fun and don't wreck it.

Car Max has Drive Financial that gets you into a car cheaply even without a co-signer...

We're trying to build our credit before we get married. That and once she gets good car credit we can go get something worthwhile (WRX, Mazdaspeed 3, SRT-4, ect...)

sorry dude, you don't need credit for anything except going into the hole

i have no problems with banking, utilities, renting cars with my debit card, with no credit

with manual underwriting, you don't even need credit to buy a house, the only thing i think a person couold possibly justify buying on time.and yes you can get todays low rates with a blank sheet of paper for a credit report. just have your job for 2 years, pay your rent on time for 2 years and have a reasonable down payment, and by va and fha standards you are guarnteed a loan, as long as the payment isn't like more than 25 percent of your monthly gross.

As I said,
gf with no credit applies for city utilities = huge deposit.

I apply with good credit = no deposit.

I got a huge discount on my insurance(progressive) because of my good credit score.
Had to put down zero deposit for my house(rent) again they ran a credit check.
I have the same bank as my sister(not perfect credit) and her interest rates are like 5% higher than mine.
If I buy something online with my amex card they protect me unlike a debit card or paypal. Also Ive NEVER been able to use a debt card to rent a car, they all say they require a credit card no debt cards.

I also never herd of buying a house with no credit, what bank in their right mind is giving you a 200k loan on your good looks? If you are buying with no credit good luck with a variable rate and a 50k house maybe.

This is all based on my own experience and those around me, could be different for you. I personally like having my good credit and see no reason Not to have it.

Loans have there time and place, but be careful. I ended up defaulting on about $250,000.00 in loans, because of what the 9/11 attacks did to our economy. I use to could get a loan for anything......now I can't get a freakin cell phone in my name. It takes a long time to build and even longer to rebuild credit. You HAVE to be responsible. Think, what if I lost my job, or got hurt, ect...Because I found out the hard way that even if it isn't your fault, your credit is still screwed! I buy a car, and the money for payments that I am not making (since it isn't financed) I use to fix the car up. If something happens, the car is still paid off, but during good times, I fix up everything I can on it. You can get a beater that is pretty dependable...

I have to agree with Trucker, iwannadie. Anybody should be able to get utilities, mortgage, etc. without debt history. If you have any history of paying any bills on time at all (phone, cell, electric, rent, whatever), you can use a notarized statement from whomever you were paying to stand as a credit score - the more the better

Now, you might run into a butthead company here or there, but people have realized the American dream without the American hemmorage. If you and your gf are trying to build credit, you might be better off trying this.

Well I dunno what to say, my gf has only ever had like a cell phone and that kinda thing. Every company (electric, gas, water, cable tv, rental company) wanted a deposit because she had no credit history. They run my name and everything is fine, no need for notarized statements from anyone lol. Im not saying they Wouldnt hook up the stuff in her name, just that they wanted deposits.

From my experiences, at some point in your life youll need a line of credit. Be it cell phone, car, house payment. If its your first time and its something big your going to get hit hard with a high rate. I still dont see how someone can go to a company and ask for 200k to buy a house. Having never show the ability to repay a loan and expect to not get killed on interest.

It does get easier to get a mortgage with a good rating, no doubt. It's just a matter of weighing out the risk of debt and spinning it out of control versus maybe a little higher interest rate that can be refi'd after a couple of years. Once you've established it a little bit, it's good to go as long as a person stays current. But it's something everybody has to work out on their own.

One other option is to get a CC (as long as there's no annual fee and a low limit) and commit yourself to a limited amount of use per month - maybe a tank of gas or so - and paying it in full without fail.

Yea, by having a high interest mortgage for a few years showing you can handle a line of credit you can then get a lower rate. Why not do that Before you get a house? Have a series of credit cards or loans to show the mortgage company you Can hold down your debt over time, then enter the home loan with a low rate to begin with.

My credit score is in the high 700s which I think is pretty good for not owning a home yet.

Credit = Temptation to be stupid and irresponsible.
This is very true to more then enough people i know. Don't get me wrong, sometimes (like tonight) i spend 200 dollars on my cc, but i know that within 2 days, i will be getting a cheque from work for xxx amount of dollars.
If you know how much you can afford, then credit is fine i think... Unlike some of my friends hat i know.. 2 of them took out a Best Buy Credit Card thing a majig, and both bought ps3's... and these guy i know are already in dept with their credit cards to the max...

yeah this car is only 6800 bucks, i just dont have that much money and i really need a good reliable awd DD and that subie has the potential to be just that.

Why AWD? You can get a MUCH cheaper car with less drivetrain and gets great gas mileage. Get an Echo! :icon_bigg Good and reliable.

Some of us have discipline.

Agreed!!!

Why shy away from something that you fear will eat you up when you can discipline yourself, battle it and beat it.

That way you also learn a new skill and become a better knowledged person.

Seems people either think credit is great and dive in until they are in debt. Think credit is evil because They cant control how much they spend and go cash only. Or, people that see the value in having a line of credit with a good rate and live happily ever after.:icon_bigg

i'm bad, i'm nationwide
i wanna die. i have never had to pay a deposit for utilities anywhere in the country, ever

i rent cars several times a year on my debit card from budget, avis and enterprise, all in different areas of the country

and those house guidelines are by va and fha guidelines...try a bank that uses manual underwriting instead of dumbfuck beacon score loans//look at places like churchill mortgage forexample
