Well I dont want to be narrow minded on getting a new car. Give me ideas on cars, so I can research them and see exactly what I want. Right now I still have a c5 z in mind, but I have a feeling that there is a car out there that I'm missing that might be sweet to have.

Requierments...
Cost ~30k or under (I will be able to have up to ~ 20k cash to spend in several months (and after I sell my other 91), and no car payment would weigh in heavily on decision making)
Must be fairly quick.. or ability to be quick easily
Handle good (want to track the car often)
I dont want something thats going to break down on my all the time, I want to drive this car rather then work on it..

I might edit the requirements if i think of anything else but that pretty much sums it up.. Remember the car wont be my daily.. i'll have my 92 for that

some ideas I've come up with
c5 z of course
mkiv
m3 (e36.. e46 is too much$..... )
s4
350z
g35
sti (insurance cost is a downfall)
evo (insurance as well)

any other ideas?

Something tells me you will not be happy with a MKIV. You would be in the same modding boat as an MK3.

350Z and G35 are just too slow. Don't think you would really be satisfied with either of those. I beat one last night while being down on power with a boost and exhaust leak.

Just get the Z06 like you were talking about before. Plenty power out of the box and does not need to be a money pit to be fun.

I never thought we would agree OneJoeZee, but now we have :icon_bigg. Z06 would be a great dd.......cheap go fast parts......aftermarket parts galore....

I miss the hell out of my STi. i was payin about 625 every 6 months for the STi in insurrance.

I did the BPU style mods to it, and it was a blast to drive around the streets. Piss slow on the freeway though.

I know what you're saying joe, I'm just listing the options that I've considered. I've looked into them and decided not quite what I want, and so far the z06 fits the bill..

Yea, I really love the 04/05 stis, can practically pay cash for one, but insurance is an extra 130$ a month just for it. So that really kills the mood for that. Yea I'm not looking for anything too fast.. mid 12s is fine for now. A stock turbo will get mid mid 12s @ 107-108 on 93 pump with out much fuss.. They handle good, have great brakes and what not.. same as the evo.. I dont like them as much as the sti. But they can be wicked fast.. but again insurance is more then the sti.

As far as the porsche or any euro car for that matter, I'm scared of them!! hahah.... I've heard the nightmares to work on and have problems all the time. Not to mention expensive to fix. So I'm hesitant on any euro right now.

03-04 Cobra! V8, Supercharged, 6spd, handles well, and just all around BAD ASS!

350+whp stock and easy to get to 500+whp w/ pullie, exhaust, intake, programmer, and a few misc things

they are goin for 22k-28k depending

throw some suspension on it and you have a good track car and daily!

this should help you a bit.

+1 for the 03-04 Cobra's, way meaner looking than the Zoh's IMO, and way easier to make a lot of power with. Don't forget those blocks can handle anything you throw at them. Especially if you decide to turbo it somewhere along the way.. Plus they sound soooo much better.

MKIII as a DD and a Z06 as a Fun car...something tells me the DD won't be nearly as reliable as the fun car...lol.

The evos and STIs are more insurance than the z06? I think an Evo or maybe if you wanted a ton of money to spend..a DSM! Yes I said it.

Some ideas:
2.5RS Impreze with STI swap (maybe keep down on insurance costs)
FL registered Skyline

JUST THOUGHT OF THE CAR: LS1 RX7 FD

How about a WS6 Trans Am? I love those cars.

Looks mean imo and it has a LS1? Sounds like fun. :)

I wanted one instead of a supra. but was a bit over my budget. :p

Out of your list I'd go with the ZO6, if I was going to pick up a new car to drive/beat on it would either be one of those or a '03-04 Cobra.

How about one of these. :evil5:

http://www.arielatom.com/

I bet the insurance would be real nice on one of those.

When they start producing them, they hope the MSRP for the base model will be about $35,000.

In all serious though the corvette is a good idea. I bet you would really enjoy it.
