Heat wrap on the downpipe works really well to keep the engine bay and transmission cool.

Also, if your transmission is caked in dirt and oil... clean it. It cools itself from the air blowing across it. If it's insulated with dirt it won't cool as well. It doesn't create much heat itself (unless it's under high load for a while), but it does soak up engine heat and exhaust heat and you'll feel it through the shifter if it doesn't dissipate like it should.

That MUST BE IT! I didn't heat wrap the downpipe. Will do as soon as possible.

I completely redid my cooling system just before this summer replacing it all with completely stock parts. With an ambient temperature of 80*F, my car will never get any warmer than 190*F, even after a well boosted drive. Car is running 12psi with a 57-trim CT-26, 2.5" hardpipes, 3" turbo back cat delete. Last summer I was hitting temps of up to 220*F, the biggest issue ended up being the rad was 3x heavier than the new one I put in (so....it was plugged solid!).

As for under the hood temps, if you're not driving forward it's not going to be pushing air through there. It's especially bad if you don't have your fan shroud and the panel under the bumper to help funnel that air back.

my car seems to be doing okay in AZ i have 3inch exhaust (No wrap) and Driftmotion IC kit (no wrap) The cheap BOV stopped working within 500miles i replaced it with a real HKS that has seemed to hold up great. Still seems pretty hot under the hood. And the IC pipe the goes over the turbo and the bov get really hot. only have rear heat shield also.

My Fan shroud is not there anymore.
Although i only have the stock temp gauge but it never moves any higher then O.T.

Temps range 103 to 120 in the summer here. I also DD mine but i do not have A/C this summer :(

Almost embarassed to admit it but I had a recent overheating at low revs. Temp guage would go to red and then fall back to normal. Changed the air filter which was old and was filthy- problem solved!!

As JJ said, not likely an air filter problem. Do you get waterfall noises behind the dash when you first startup your car in the morning? I'd burp the cooling system and hope that it's just an air pocket, otherwise start looking for signs of BHG :(

synthetic oil in the r154 help a lot to reduce it's operating temperature

Umm no. r154 doesnt need synthetic. Regular oil or redline mt90.
