OK, it sounds like you need to just pony up and get a new wiring harness!! I got one and it solved all of my problems!! The not starting up could be as easy as the EFI fuse not being put back in, or you need to wiggle the CPS harness. If you pull the EFI fuse the car will crank but will not fire over. Try that!! I know that the stupidest things you will forget when spending a lot of time working on the car. I know. Also check to make sure that the wiring harness is plugged into the ECU all the way, that happened to me when I first got my new harness and the car wouldn't turn over. Those are the first things that I would check, also check to see if you are getting fuel pressure.
In Summary:
1) Check the EFI Fuse, make sure it's fine or even there
2) Check CPS wires, wiggle them around and clean with electrical parts cleaner
3) Fuel pressure, check and see if the fuel pump is working and you have pressure
4) ECU plugs, make sure they are all nice and tight!
