just detailed my car.. it is red.. and was pretty faded!
used maguiars fine cut polish, then mother's pure carnuba wax with an adjustable speed buffer...

wowww what a difference! my paint looks braaaaand new now!
im more than happy ! and the water beads like no tomorrow
i do hear the NXT stuff is really decent though, use the maguiars insane shine tire spray.. and it lasts weeks even after washes.

Wax is old/low tech, wears off, and doesn't protect your paint or provide the best shine. What you want is paint sealant.
