Well here is my update...

I can't find anything wrong with the engine...

Have driven it around for over an hour...close to 2 hours with it showing NO signs of over-heating.

Tonight it went out on the high way...got up to around 85. Also was on the highway for probably 5-10 minutes...NOTHING!

Could it of just been the fact that the car was in Colorado?

Well thats a stumper....... Huh.

Perhaps it likes being closer to sea level, maybe, lol.

I am still holding my breath and will likely still dig around in the engine a little. But it's got me straching my head...it seems to drive smooth and doesn't show signs of over heating.

Funny thing is my dad told me a story about how he used to have a Blazer and it ran fine and everything...then he went to Colorado and it overheated...lol.

I am in the process of trying to get some aftermarket parts though...just looking around for some good deals.

Only thing I have really found is a boost controller, which is used but in good condition for a fair price. But I will grab an intercooler kit to throw on the same time I install the boost controller.

Thats really surprising that it hasn't even thought about overheating for you.... Seriously, right before you bought it, every time I would drive it for more than 10 minutes and get into boost, it would try to overheat.

I dunno, maybe the altitude does have a fair amount to do with it. Where I live, in Colorado Springs, we're sitting at a little over 6,000 ft. So it would make sense that it ran better for you, since the car wouldn't have to work as hard. Same thing with your dad's Blazer, I guess, lol.

Regardless, I'm glad its running well for you!

Wow, it's been driven for 2 hours straight and there were no signs of it overheating. I even had the 'AC' on, which was just blowing warm air and it wouldn't show any signs of overheating.

But I am still going to pull the radiator and check that over...maybe that is on it's way out.

The radiator is only about 2 years old..... I replaced it because it was leaking. Also, that was one of the first things I checked when I was trying to figure out what was wrong. Everything seemed fine to me, but you never know.

And yeah, the "A/C" hasn't worked for about a year, lol.

Hmm..then I dunno.

Drove it around today and no signs of anything again. Didn't really go above 50 though. Found a street that had a few little dips and hills on it though, felt like I was on a rally course or something...it's a fun car.

Glad you like it! I know I enjoyed it......

Next time you take it out to test it, just boost the living hell out of it.... If it doesn't try to overheat then, then I don't know what to tell you, lol.
