Hey guys, Just wondering how many people would be interested in an after market oil pan for the 7M that would be able to hold more oil and be similar to the design of the Magnesium Oil Pan.

I found out that Canton Racing out of Branford, CT could make custom oil pans, so if the want for them is great I’ll contact them and find the information out on the cost of the pan if we were to do a group buy. Also if there is anyone that has the Group A Pan that would be willing to post the dimensions or would be willing to let Canton use it as a template, that would be great.

Here is an idea of what the pan will look like:

Actually I called them just to check, They say around 450. The price goes down with the amount ordered. He also said it would be best if we had an exact pan to replicate, other wise we need to design it. They can also make new sumps.

That would be great. I contacted them and they need a design for the pan, and sump location, that’s why I figured if we could find a group A pan it would be easier, they said they can make a replica of it. Including all the baffles. The only thing is on price, if you can take them a pan and get a true estimate that would be great. The more pans ordered the cheaper they are going to be. He said there is a discount on ten or more.

I have a spare pan or 2 and can take it to them with some dimensions to give them some guidelines to work in.

Have you talked to someone specifically, or a couple diff. people? If you got the name of a certain guy, ill call him up and tell him i'll bring him a pan and see if we can get the ball rolling. The sooner the better for me.

I know this question is unlikely to be answered on this forum but does anyone happen to know if the group A oil pan would fit the 7mgte on a mkii? If it fits then I'd be in to fill the desired "10" in order to get this cheaper than $450...

Sounds good. I just talked to some random guy there. I would only buy one if we could get enough people to get the price around 300.00. See what you can do.
