Ok, i recently bought a mkiii supra and on the way home the throttle engaged itself all the way. I shut the car off and coated to the side. I had to tow the car home and then i took a look to find that the tps was loose, and is missing a screw. I tightened the one screw i had and then turned on the car. Now the rpm jumps from 500-3000 over and over and over. What is the problem? any suggestions would be great, its been sitting outside for a week and its killing me that i cant drive it

So your car has been sitting for a week, and during that time you couldn't puzzle this out?

Read this section in the TSRM:

Do you know what a throttle position sensor does?

This specific page in the TSRM may help:

How about taking it to a mechanic and having it repaired? This is obviously way above your skill set. You bought a 20 year old sports car off of someone without knowing the basics. Looks like you'll need to start learning quick or you'll be out major $$$ over your period of ownership. Wait until the real issues with these cars start veering their heads.

You should really add more information to your posts too i.e is it turbo or non turbo

There could be a few things but a good place to start is with supracentral's post, you'll need a set of feeler gauges and a multimeter to set the tps correctly, if this isn't set properly it will cause all hell of problems.

Also don't forget a supra owners best friend is self diagnostics http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?Section=FI&P=23
