Ok i am going to start working two jobs and some really long hours this summer while im out of school in order to save up for a fairly new daily driver for this winter and for when i move onto college in order to save the supra the trouble of driving 180 miles over the mountain passes over the winter once i move out.

I am looking for something AWD, fairly new and reliable that i can just drive comfortably over snow covered highways and not worry about old worn parts.

these are my choices. I am going to sell 2 of my cars (not the supe) which should yield about $5-6k and save every penny possible this summer from both jobs and maybe if i need to get like a $2-3k loan. my budget is about $13k for a fairly new car, what i want is AWD, comfort, space for personal stuff, and alteast a little bit fun to drive.

Cliffnotes, help me make up my choice on what to buy.

dont laugh at the first Audi i have found some selling for about $13-15k in very good/new condition so its still possible

ok i know im not going to find an altrac in really good/almost new condition for sale and i really dont want to work on it.

legacy, not enough oomph for the mountain roads i like to hit. its ok just not quite up to par on the fun factor.

and i like classy, my old audi was 1987 luxury and i enjoyed the the crap out of it, the downside was the age of the thing, im working really hard to get this so i want the most out of it.

man, you should get the DSM! I used to own one and it was one hell of a fun car to drive. The Audi would be nice, but just imagine if something breaks on the thing. That = big expensive repair bill. Plus those cars have that motor shoehorned in there. Even if you want to upgrade the turboes you will have to take the motor out, well atleast lift it.

alltrac is hard to find period.

subaru is my best bet for availability of parts and indestructable design, i just hate the fact that its n/a

the dsm is bottom of list cus of all the damn gremlins those things have, i have worked on quite a few 1g and 2g 4g63's and they are an entirely different mess like the supra, they just keep sucking money.

I'd go with the Subie. I love Audi's but I've heard theyre not the most reliable unless you really keep up with them. A friend's uncle had 4 Audi's and when my friend couldnt decide between an A4 or a 325xi his uncle said when he switched from Audi it was the best thing he did. So BMW or Subaru FTW
