Try supporting the tranny with a jack, and removing the crossmember. Then slowly adjust the height of the transmission. If the engine is lifted at all, it could be putting shaft in a bind.
you can have the tranny off the car in six bolts if its already unbolted from the block. just pull the drive shaft off and unbolt the tranny at the crossmember and pull it off seperately. u wont have to disconnect your slave cylinder
