well, like to say first off she's alright, my sister that is who was driving,

she was driving home when traffic came to a stop for a accident a mile or so further up the road i belive, when a 75 yr man rear ended her at what looks like full speed, speed limit was 55, most people do 70-75 on this stretch...

p515789_1.jpg

oh yes that's a puddle of gas baby!

the seat was bent backwards from the forward g's of take off, then her steering wheel show's the effective stopping g's..

my sister cracked me up when she told me she became distrote when she realized she had been hit, and her hood was kinked and bent, wasn't till she looked through her back window to look at the guy who hit her when she realized her car was totaled 3 weeks after i put a new motor into her and got her car running again!

well worst still inline, the guy who hit her fled the scene, and some one got his plates, he was pulled over just past the first accident where he resisted arrest and fought with the cops.

i belive one of the officer's said the guy was drunk who talked to my father.

i cant belive there are people out there that would leave some one for dead after hitting them at freeway speed's, my sister's car pushed into 3 other car's

well i just figured i would rant a little bit here, im shocked that this could happen to a family like mine, but stranger stuff happens..

THANKS! Yea, I saw that, I just couldn't believe that the other car involved that accident was able to drive away. It looks like the other car should have been totalled.

Then again...maybe he was driving a Supra. :biglaugh:

Now the question is that are they gonna say that the mustang is worth a lot due to its classic"ness" and its rarity or say its just an old car??

And does the guy have insurance? Cause it kinda sounds like this is one of the guys that prob. doesnt...

Anndd how the hell was the guy able to drive his car away?!!

Thats the funny thing about insurance, They will be like oh an old car we'll give you 1,000$ for it. Well they are obligated by law if you tell them to find you a car in the exact same condition and buy it for you. So they will start looking then offer you 2000$ and keep going up until they realize how much the car is really worth. It takes a bit of time but they will cave. Just my bit of insurance knowledge thought I'd pass it along. Only reason I know it is because it happend to my friend's boss.

thats no good.. in fact that just all around sucks.

If the insurance could get you NADA value of the car - you should get a pretty large amount. Brother had his Vette hit and ran and got 13,000 out of it... he only paid like 5,000. (it was a 77 btw).

good luck to your sister.

lol.. at least it was not a ford probe that hit you otherwise she would have probed your ass.

here is the best advice i can give you!
1) get a lawyer insurence companys dont go after medical bills lost wages pain suffering

2)get a doctor take pictures get a police report collect your basic evidence

3) go after a rental car rightaway!

4) the insurance company will try to offer you nothing for the car.

go by these things to get the most money for it

they pay for anything new you put intio like if you even just registered it.

search for mustangs like your car or a little bit better like dont go looking for elenore off gone in 60 seconds and say your car was like that one.

find the top 3 mustangs in the paper like one minght be 26,000 one might be 30,000 one might be 40,000 the will by law have to pay you the avg of the three you find which would be 32,000 then they have to pay you up to 75% for anything new you put in the engine like new motor new sterio new alarm new tires etc.. haves to be bought in about the last year like new paint job etc... they pay 75% of that in addition to the car value of 32,000 in the example i gave you....

ok next you keep all reciepts see a doctor under your lawyers advice get treatment even if you feel fine

but if he haves no insurance this is where it gets really tricky you cant do much if he had no insurance and had no assets but if he haves insurence you can get a rental car the next day..

if he haves no insurance hope you have uninshured motorist or full coverage will get back the money for your car..

if he haves no insurance but he does have a house and owns it put a huge lean against his estate and property! so he haves to pay in a year or he is forced to sell everything and pay you the case settlement.. i hope every thing works out with in a couple days she will probley get really sore and will not have bruises untill 2-3 days later and take pictures of the bruises also usualy will be where you hit the car and under the straps i hope that everything works out for you guys!
