I had to remove the cps to get to a leaking hose. When I was all done I did not know if you can put the cps in wrong so I just put it back in there and plugged it up. When I went to go start up the car It would just keep cranking and not start. I also heared backfires and weired noises...:3d_frown:

yeah, since you took it out, you pretty much have to retime the car now. You have to align the notch on the driveshaft of the CPS before you put it back in. You must of turned the shaft while it was out, not hard to do.
Do you think it's possible that I may have broke something trying to start the car with the cps adjusted wrong? I think i cranked it about 5 times at most and I never cranked it longer than it usually takes to start the car. And is the CPS the only thing I have to adjust to get it to start ? :1zhelp:
LOL if you'd seen how many times mine backfired and stuffed around while I was setting up the MoTeC you'd realise just how tough a 7M is 
I adjusted the cps like the tsrm said(match the groove and pin). Put the cps in and it started up. Every thing was fine until I notice my idle was higher then before. My car use to idle at 650-750 rpm and now its up to 950-1000 rpm. When I'm at a stop sign or light the idle will also fluctuate by dropping to around 6 to 800 and then back to 950 rpms. When I hit full boost (10psi) I also noticed this faint but fast clicking sound coming from the motor. This might just be in my head but it seems like boost comes in a bit more slower too. I'll check if I have any boost leaks but just wanted to add that bit of information.

if you cannot set base timing than you need to pull it out and adjust it before trying to set the timing again.
CPS to TDC, motor to TDS and it's cake...
then set base timing (or be uber like me and the two times I've pulled mine I've put it back in at exactly the right timing...yes I confirmed with a timing light with the jumper in)
