The v160/61 fits in the tunnel with no "persuading." However, you do need to cut 4" off the shifter bracket and linkage rod to install the shifter in the stock location.

i cant wait till i get my $157 Getrag trans into mine, but thats only after i found out that it has three blown syncos.

4 inches off BOTH the bracket and linkage rod.
Blown syncros, bah. That is one hell of a deal on the getrag!

its a v161, which is physically the same, just different ratios. really similar. what looks different? post some pics..
It looks like the tailhousing is a bit different. The oil drain plug is recessed on yours it doesnt seem to be so on mine, and the casting of the tailhousing is a bit different. I can post some pics later on.
