well, RP is working hell of a lot better then before. but it doesnt FIX the problem. a rebuild is the solution but, using RP cost $49.00 for me and its only about 3 weeks old. i'll try redline in about 5 thousand miles.

like i said i using RP was hell of a lot better then nothing.

there's also a really cheap modification you can do:

Replace the shifter bushings. Yes, you may have a bad transmission, but there's a very good chance your shifter bushings are shot as well. If you have any sort of play in the shifter while it's in gear, you need new bushings.

Spend the $15, and get a set of solid urethane bushings from Marlin Crawler. It will make a world of difference in your shifting regardless of the state of your transmission. Do that, then change out the fluid. It will be like a whole new tranny.

I'd love to know how it goes as soon when I'm changing my engine oil im going to give MT90 a go in the tranny as I don't know what's in it currently or when it was changed.

I actually had this same problem. Redline helped A LOT, but it took a few weeks to really notice a change. As for reverse, I suggest putting it into first gear and moving forward a little, then putting it into reverse. Works for me.

Switch to Redline and do the Marvin Crawler bushing swap, that'll improve it a lot. I'd also try double clutching, I always do it on downshifts and it makes life easier.

I love the way the R154 feels... It's smooth but you can really feel how tough it is. There was a thread on the tricks people use to get it into reverse, my personal trick is to try reverse, then go into second and back into reverse. Slides right in.

Compared to my friend's T56 with less than half as a many miles as my R154, the T56 feels like the tranny in my FWD Celica:greddy:
