Can i JUST take out the alarm?

im having issues with my 89 mkiii alarm going off when i unlock my door. my power lock mechanism is inop so when i unlock the doors with the key and open it, the alarm goes off.

i dont really care about the alarm so i was wondering if i took the module for the alarm out would it affect anything else? bcuz i kno that it can keep the car from starting if the alarm is tripped.

If you remove the alarm ECU (Theft Deterrent Computer), your starter will be inoperable. If you ground the blue wire with the orange stripe, all will work as it should, except of course, the alarm system.
