I know this sounds stupid maybe, but Im simply curious. Is it possible to get coilpacks running on my car INSTEAD of a dist?

TIA guys.

Gotta have the turbo huh, the rest I can get in there, I dont wanna turbo my NA though..

My other question, I heard NA heads were the same as Turbo heads, what about the hole the dist goes into? Is that there on the turbo heads too?

Yes...that's where the CPS goes...which is defintely what you'd need if you tried to use coilpacks on a GE

Bye bye dizzy, hello CPS. Along with the ECU, harness, coil wires, ignitor, coil pack and probably injectors while you're at it.

I don't see why it wouldn't be possible without going turbo. You'll need a fuel computer though.... I'd probably go and add something for timing control as well, since the turbo's timing advance isn't as aggressive as the N/A's. A MAFT Pro or a SAFC II paired up with a MSD6 would cover those requirements. I really doubt you'd want turbo injectors.

My guess would be stronger spark, faster spark, more reliable timing, better timing control... You have to remember, that under boost, the ecu pulls timing, harder to do with a dizzy, unless it's vacuum operated...

I wanna get a MAFT Pro anyways, so maybe Ill do a full conversion, anyone know an estimated cost of doing this? Along with anyone actually doing it yet?
