Question can a bad TPS lead to a no CEL ?
I have asked a couple of questions on this forum as a newbie to the 7M engine and guys have been great help. I have finally finished wiring and plumbing my JDM 7MGTE swap into my 4runner. And now I am working out some of the small problems. The engine runs good but stumbles for few seconds at start up and then it idles and revs good after that.
My problem is that I do not get a CEL. I have checked the gauge and efi fuses, Batt and B+ Volts, E1 and E2 grounds and the gauge bulb. The CEL also does not come on when checking for codes in the on postion; however, if I crank it will shorting Te1 and E1 the CEL does come on.
I have done some research on the TSRM and on http://tinyurl.com/yby2ps and that is how I found I have a bad TPS. I was checking the TPS and making sures that throttle was closed and IDL contact on.
Last thing I got to do tonight was check the Vc voltage at the ECU harness
and I did have low voltage of about 2V instead of 5V. I am just hoping is not both a bad ECU and a bad TPS.
