well first of all my dad, as everyone knows in the family is a party pooper and he just gets everyone worked up, well today we got into some stupid argument and he starts yapping about how hes going to take my supra away, when i havent even got it he was telling me "you can kiss your supra goodbye" and i was like well it isnt really your call because its not his car its my aunts car and shes giving it to me for a grad present and ill be able to have it once i get my licence...oh yeah if any of you readers are filipino...you know what im talking about.

I love my dad. My parents have been divorced for about 10 years now, I used to be more distant from him but over the past couple years I really started to appreciate him. Maybe because I see him only occasionally now, maybe because I'm older and can see things better as he would see them. There isn't really anything as nice as a good healthy relationship. You and your dad sound like me and my mom sometimes :icon_razz

My folks have been divorced for over 25 years now. I get along fine with both parents, but I don't actually talk to them that much - my dad lives 1000 miles away, and doesn't have a phone or internet. My mother lives in the same city, but with the kids and my job, I just don't have that much time to spare anymore.

I really didn't get along with my parents years ago, but the old adage, Time heals all, really is true, and 20 years goes a long ways towards healing things that you never thought would go away.

Mine is a jackass 89% of the time. My parents are divorced and my dad used to and still does sometimes takes his work built stress out on us.

He manages a Real Estate office in pleasonton(Intero) and is the president of the Contra Costa Realators association or somthing.

Oh well. He is cool sometimes.

We did not get along well when I was young and dumb, He tossed my ass out when I was 15. Now that I am in my mid 30's he seems much smarter than I rememberd him to be. We get along great now...:biglaugh:

Shit, I bought my own car when I turned 16, yet I rode the bus to school half the time during my junior/senior year LOL. It's their house, they can take it away if they damn well please.

Personally, I get along great with my dad. He's my best friend, and we're like carbon copies of each other. I'm 28, and I still live at home (long story). I won't move out until I get married or something. My mom died a little over 3 years ago, and I don't want to leave him alone, since we don't have much family nearby, and I'm an only child. And I know he wont get remarry or even get a gf.

I love my dad to death...I only used to see him 3 months out of the year but he's taught me more in 3 months than my mom and stepdad have in 7 years. He's always asking me if I want to help him wrench on his tractor or weld something...and when he wants something made I'm usually the first person he asks about doing it. Gives me a sense of importance and something to do for fun, plus I think he likes watching me work on and make stuff. He can joke about almost anything too. Hell he just left me a message today telling me to give him some warning and let him know if he's going to be a grandpa in the near future....hopefully he's not LOL

...only thing is he's been through countless relationships and been taken advantage of numerous times since my mom and him got divorced. He has about as much luck with women as I do with my car...kinda sad really because he's not the type to live a secluded life, and he really does deserve much better.
