I'm sorry about your Grandmother! I'm sorry tho, I got a little lost in the story. What I should have said was Grandfather. But if the Aunt is there to remind him to take it, I doubt that he would be a suspect.

I was just on craigslist, and I didn't find anything specific for you but I would recommend that you get on there and search for a webcam in your area or even a cheap video camera...sometimes people give those things away in our "if it's old replace it" society...

i found a cheap webcam for 2 dollars but it got bad reviews and would probably be a hassle so i figure it would be better for you to look in your area :)

If you don't find anything available, post a want ad. You may get lucky and even get someone willing to give you something who isn't on Supramania...

if you haven't used it just go to www.craigslist.org and find your location :)

yep! I dont know how big of a deal 15 dollars is to you but you said you are tight on $$ so just think through it. that one looked decent to me. i just dont know jack about them, as i said before....so yeah.

quick search led me to this site, if you scroll down to the "logitech" section there are 4 that look like it, check the bottom three. the top one is too new.

Or...Something that would be a much cheaper method (if you can find a more basic digital camera with video)......

I'm obviously not aware of the layout of the house, but whatever time of the day she's expected of coming to your Grandfathers house...
Hide somewhere like under a bed or behind something or in the back yard looking through a window, and when she arrives, simply record from that point.

That way, you won't have to worry about recording for a 24 hour period nor worry about her wondering why Grandpa magically bought a computer for himself. ;)

Just another idea. Good luck Matt, hope things work out for ya, pal.

Why not take the aunt to court, and have HER tested for the drugs? i mean... if your mom came up clean, and your grandpa is taking the right amounts... why didnt you get her tested? sounds like an easy case to me... could always get him a motor home to put in the backyard or something?

or move him in as a temp thing to sale his home and then ues it as a down payment on a new home move in and sale your home after the move easy peasy you might end up no the couch for a wile and giv grandpa your room in the interim

i know you said you have no room but if you all can just live with it for a little wile it will be the best in the long run and no payment to his house would help in so many ways at this point for your situation and be able to regulate the meds in house under lock and key aswell

Webcam is a god idea however, wont it be a little weird that a computer is all of a sudden there? The bullett cam seems to be the better way to go. All it will need is a power cord and a vcr. get a extra long tape that would do close to 12hours. (i dont think a reglar vcr will last longer then that.) I have a 100ft video cable that works with most bullett cams, (it was used with a night camera but the camera broke) If forcedtorque is willing to part with it, I can give you the cable. then you will have 100ft of cord to hide the vcr. The cable I have will run the video and the power to the camera. All thats left is a vcr to hide. you can find that cheap.

forcedtorque - Post a pic of the camera and what the connectors look like, do you have the power cord for it?

PM me if you want to try this idea.

bummer....this sucks. I don't really have anything to help with...I would suggest taking her to court for stealing when you're able to prove it AND get a restraining order.

I work at a radioshack and we have a bunch of surveilence stuff for around 100 dollars. there is a tv with 3 camera's i think for like 120 bucks, 9i just don't know that there are any video tapes that could tape that long you would have to change the tape 1 or twice which doesn't really sound like an option.
