Can anyone help our family please?

Please take the time to read this. Our family could greatly use your help.

Well as you may know my grandmother recently passed away. This means my grandfather would have to live on his own for a while. But we recently got one of our distant family members (My great aunt) to watch over him, and remind him to make his heart and pain medication. She has a history of abusing drugs and whatnot.

Anyway, she has been taking and abusing his medication. We know this because we (Me, mom, dad and brother) will go over to visit every week and he will be short 40-50 pills. Let me remind you... 40-50 PILLS A WEEK!

So, we have no way of proving that she is doing it. If it's taken to court, my aunt could say my mom (Also a distant history of abusing drugs) is taking them and selling them or something. So we need video evidence.

BUT, due to our grandfather's bank account being frozen our side of the family (Us 4) are having to pay our bills, and his bills including the house payment. We don't own a small video that can record over 24 hours of footage.

So, if anybody has a small camera (Not huge, but small enough to be hidden) that can record over 24 hours of footage and you are willing to sell it PLEASE LET US KNOW! The only cameras we can find are over 600$ and we barely have enough to get us by.

That or change the locks and dont rely on her.

Well we don't have enough room in this house to move him in here. And he doesn't have enough room for us over there.

And nobody rents electronics. Even at the pawn shop they are about 500$

I second that. Using a webcam could be a great idea. Just set up a computer in the living area and then shut off monitor. It will be cheap and effective.

If you're online and posting now, can you take that pc to your grandfather's place for a day or so and attach a webcam?

Webcams are dirt cheap these days...

Bestbuy has a lot of webcams for under $50 USD. That would be the smart way to I would think.

Strange you can't rent a camera there as it has lots of advantages to borrowing one. (you get insurance in case psycho aunt finds it and tries to steal/break/eat it)

I've got a bullet style surveilence camera. I have no idea what it needs to monitor it. If someone knows about this type of stuff and can tell you what else you would need, I would give it to you.

st2b - Man that sucks you're having such a hard time. I would look into the webcam thing and just make sure you have a program set up to record. I dont have any experiance with this really but I'm positive it would work. most good webcams are under 30 dollars as well

We tried to kick her out, she took us to court and said my mom was abusing them. But the probation officer tester her and she's clean. We're still having to battle our bank in court for stealing over 10,000$ on top of us not knowing, writing checks, but because they took the money we had all the checks bounced and they charged us 35$ for insufficient funds for EACH CHECK!!

On top of parents taking it out on me, I probably won't be on for a while here soon, because I'm honestly not surprised if our cable/Ethernet gets shut off.

Plus we might have to sell my pride and joy (Supra). This whole thing is making me sick to my stomach, I just wish I was 18 and lived on my own.

I know you probably don't understand it all. Don't consider it taking it out on you, the whole thing is probably stressing them VERY hard. I'm guessing that it shows in everything they do........not just when they are talking to you. Hang in there man...everything happens for a reason, even when we can't seem to figure out what that reason is.

Sounds to me like the pills may be getting sold. If she's stealing checks, I wouldn't doubt that. She's allowing her money problems to affect your family and it's money.

My grandmother passed away, but she has never been in any way abusing them. In fact, she wouldn't EVER want to take them when she needed to. She was a devoted Christian, to the EXTREME! Haha, so no, I don't think she would.
