If you're going to get a beater to drive around, go ahead and drain out the coolany and oil and flush it out well once done to get as much out as possible that way you can salvage shit from that engine if need be (I'm leaning more towards what John was talking about).

Thanks, I'll consider it. I haven't decided what I'm going to do with it at this point as my first concern was getting wheels by this weekend. My parents have been kind enough to lend me a vehicle to get me around this week, but I've got to have some solution in place by Monday.

As far as the Sup is concerned, I may either buy a good condition Surpa in the future with a better engine, or a separate shell and a rebuilt long block so as to not inherit problems like i did with this engine.

Either way, I'm still going to stay with the hobby, it will just be a financial factor that determines how long it will be before I can get back into it.

I feel for ya man, I'm in the same spot with trying to build mine up. Any spare money I have goes to my baby. But I've got a grand or so set aside to rebuild my soon to be DD so I can get rid of the DD I have now (along with the car payments, insurance bills, and gas consumption that goes along with it) ;).
