Sup guys,
gotta question here, im trying to degree my custom camshafts on my 7M! is there any steps on how to do it on our motors, am having a hard time getting an accurate reading from the dial! like its kind of hard to place the dial in the right location to get an accurate reading! has anyone ever done this before? i've searched and searched and found nothing, any help would be appreciated.

thnx

congrats on actually doing this properly! You are one of the few.

The same principles that the pushrod guys use, we can use. Except instead of using the push rod (which we do not have) you use the valve shim itself ;) This will require you to PRELOAD the dial indicator as the valve shim will go down and not up. How much preload, doesn't matter as long as it does not get to zero ;)

All the other steps are exactly the same from gather TDC to gathering centerline.

Where can i put the dial at, there is not enough room on top of the shim! because the size of the cam is the same size as the shim.

thnx

I come from a land down under
Long probe on the indicator beside the lobe works for me.

I also made a steel plate that screws to the valvecover bolt holes for the Mag base on the indicator, if you drill 3 holes it'll work on either side.

You need the indicator in line with the bucket in X and Y axis or your readings will be wrong.

The 7M is a bitch to degree but it can be done ;)
