cam scaring??

I have a head coming from ebay (if the dude ever shipes it) so I went pick up the origonal head from the machine shop. I was nervous that the cams wernt good any more but he said that they polished the cams, miked them, reinstalled them, and the whole thing is perfect. I asked him if he checked it for hardness and he said he didnt need to. he said that if the head had ever been overheated it wouldnt matter if it was resurfaced, the cam berrings would be warped to. how do I go about checking it for hardness or do I even need to.


also i never knew about hardness and now that i do i am nervous about that head that i bought off of ebay

That guy's a damn idiot then, there are no cams bearings in this head. You need a new machinist man. :nono:

bearings, journals, same shit. the dude was showing me the cams in the head while he was saying it.
