are you missing a cam or crank sensor?......

I was missing a spark. and i was going through 2jzge IG pdfs and it said to check the the sensors. turns out i didnt connect one of the knock sensors. thats why it wasnt firing. thanks for the reply.

Knock sensors will not cause the engine to not run.

The sensors near the cam covers are not knock sensors. Neither is the sensor down by the alternator. Those are the cam/crank sensors.

Yes i know the one by the alternator is crank sensor and the one by cam covers is cam sensor thats what i thought at first. but theres also a knock sensor right by the starter and one by the power steering pump. thats what it was. I traced it with the multimeter from the plug to the pin 29 at plug c88 34 pin. And yes i'm sure it was a knock sensor. :icon_bigg

Haha, just making sure.

Check your grounds at the bottom of the intake manifold. If you were in that area maybe they weren't making good grounds and when you put your hand down there you bumped them a tad to get a better contact.

was it your first time starting the swap?

It was the first time that it started. i tried to start the engine for two days before that. i wouldnt even pay attention to that plug but for the colour of the wires. the knock sensors are the only once with the clear wires, so they are easy to spot. besides i have like 6 other unused plugs hanging in the same area LOL. for those two days i traced everything to the ECu checked all the grounds and 12+ wires , the usual enchilada when you dont have a spark.
