Hi guys, Need to put new seals in the front brake calipers so i thought i'd do all four whilst i was at it until the toyota dealer came up with the price 29pounds uk plus 17.5% tax per kit,per caliper. Kit includes caliper seal, dust boot, slider boots and bleed nipple. What are prices like over there for same parts?

I recently ordered a whole set from Autozone .... Somewhere around $16US.

Has all kinds of rubber seals, etc... but no nipples. I'm getting ready to order some speed bleeders tho.

yeah, deffinitely go the reman route it's super easy bro. I brought my rear calipers into Canadian tire as coresx and got the new ones for only $75 can. They were practically brand new, although they said remanufacturered. I cleaned em, painted em red, and baked em. They were fun!

Well... a reman caliper is not anything different than the replacement of these seals. Just takes a little bit of time. Thing is, I don't necessarily need mine rebuilt, but the rubber is old and worn and since I'm still messing with this spongy brake problem, I might as well eliminate these becoming a problem.

Since I'm doing all 4 calipers, it's not cost-effective for me to replace 'em all for over $200, when I can rebuild myself in an afternoon for less than $20. The TRSM has a very detailed process for this and it doesn't seem that difficult. If I screw 'em up, then I'll drop the extra cash, but it doesn't look necessary at this point.

As far as price comparisons to those seals in the UK, I'd check with Curt (Elmhurst Toyota) or Jeff (Champion Toyota) to see what their price is and if they'd ship them out there. I don't know what auto parts you have out that way, but the kits I have have Beck-Arnley and other partnumbers that you could probably use to order 'em as well (cross-reference).

Another reason i personally chose the remans was because my calipers looked like deep fried chicken. They were covered with lots of rust, and the ones I got in exchange for them were soo nice. It all comes down to preference then I guess. I prefer to have nice looking things.

I have compressed air at home and i have blown the caliper pistons out in the past so no problem doing the job. This Autozone outfit seems likely to have what i want at a fraction of the price going by what you guys have said. Can someone give me a contact for them or make some enquiries for me? The problem i have come across in the past is that some US companies won't ship to UK or their shipping costs make it unrealistic from the cost point of view so would be great if someone can source the kits and ship to me all costs paid via paypal or whatever.
Thanks guys
