What is the purpose of the BVSV? Is it just a vacuum hose housing to transfer vacuum from one line to the other? Its the one on the thermostat housing. Reason being is that one of the nipples broke off of it, can I just run the vacuum line from the throttlebody to the charcoal cannister directly or does the bvsv have a purpose. Thanks

It has a purpose, and that is to divert vacuum to the CC at a certain time, or coolant temp.
Everyone's got at least an extra one.. I know I do, so you won't have trouble finding a cheap one

evap emissions.

the BVSV opens at a set coolant temp, allowing fuel vapor to pass into the intake tract, reducing hydrocarbon emissions.

Are there any consenquences from running the hose from the charcoal canister straight to the port on the throttle body and bypassing the BVSV?
