Umm no.
There are many cases of cars on here costing 8 times the cost of most MKIVs...
So no.

Just because every ricer out there wants a "Real Supra" doesn't mean we all want one.

O don't get me wrong me and most people on here would still have a MKIII but like most people on here I do have a love for a MKIV and if I could get one for around 3K I would so have one.

and trust me the only thing I hate about a MKIV is how every ricer out there thinks it's a "real supra"and they look down a MKIII

The more you pay now the less you'll pay later if you spend the time and educate yourslef BEFORE buying a Mk3, they're notorious money pits trust me on this one.

you can learn here..!

Supras are not cheap cars, that's the whole point...

a MKIV is not cheap when it comes to a the purchase price, MKIII's are not cheap when it comes to maintenance..

there are plenty of us that have gotten a cheap MKIII for less than $1000, and in some cases, less than $500, but have spent well over $6000 in just basic maintenance, and getting it to run, or to repair body damage..

if you are interested in restoring (the newest MKIII is 18 years old), and have another car to get you around, then definitely go for it..

just realize, it won't be cheap, it won't be easy, but it'll be FUCKING WORTH IT!!!

Aint that the truth. Bought my Supra 7 years ago for $3500 only to find it had a really bad BHG. Dropped another engine in it and the crank pulley bolt stripped out at 90mph. Now it's on 3rd installed engine which I have yet to fire-up. Since I've owned it I've driven her less than 1000mi and have invested (term used very loosely) $30k easy. Lots of trial and error. Using this vehicle as a guinea pig (first car I've ever stripped down) has not proven to be cheap or wise. Still; I'm glad I have her and I've learned a lot from all the hands on as well as from this knowledgeable community :)
