I got a own a RHD Supra that is imported from Japan and the condition is immaculate. Price wise it is not really any cheaper and it is pretty dangerous but somehow I just love it too much.

Really? You sure about that? Maybe you should do more research ;)

This is a Turbo car. 60,000 miles ;)
This is an example. Remember that us Canadians have the 15 year old rule and are LEGALLY allowed to have these cars here ;)

http://www.tyeeimports.com/Details.asp?ProductID=10

I also got an MKIII Supra a few years ago from Japan and got it for cheap. (1JZ twin turbo) Under 9000K and with exhaust, Cusco coilovers, hatch brace, strut bars, intake boost controller, Volk wheels and a few misc other things.

Not sure what point you're trying to argue against mate.

If it was the $10k - $15k Supras being NA comment, I was talking specially about 98+s (should have been a little more clear about that).

That TT doesn't seem all that cheap, isn't that about the going rate for a left hand drive one?

If some one is looking for a US street legal JDM MK3 there is one for sale on SF by a buddy of mine. He got it legal before importing JDM cars was hot and he had hook ups in the CHP at the time so it is 100% legit. It was also for sale on here a while back but he decided to keep it. If I had 9.5 grand I would buy it.

I did some research and saw that if you are importin a car for racing(track) use or as a showcar then it isnt that much of a problem. Like someone said i want one for the uniqueness of a rhd car.

A proper 6-Speed TT with low miles looks like it will set you back $40k+... that's not exactly what I'd call mindblowingly cheap

Speaking of this comment above ^ You state that a "A proper 6-Speed TT with low miles" should fetch 40+K. This one I posted HAS low miles (60,000) and at half the price you listed. (not an N/A)

I'm clearly not speaking of N/A Supras, look at my link.I know you are speaking of TT Supras. Please re-read as I posted a TT RHD Supra link. They are not 40+K in Japan is what I was pointing out which is why I posted this. http://www.tyeeimports.com/Details.asp?ProductID=10 (Half of which you stated) Whether they are a '93 or '98 Supra, they won't go from 20K to 40K just from those few years.
I just pointed out my MKIII because I got the car from Japan and know a bit about the importing process.

This should help you some. Again, to clarify it for you, this link I posted is of a RHD not left ;) We are speaking of RHD as they come like that in Japan. Remember what the title of this thread is about? "Japan Supras"

I'm simply showing that the pricing you gave (40+K) is not what they are gong for as shown in the link provided. ;)

Dangerous just due to the fact that turning left is a nightmare. I just have to take my time and be patience and wait for the yellow!

Turing left at an "intersection" and not just left in general. ;) You would need to be a little more cautious but red lights in general that is the general rule :) I've never had any problems driving the Sup around at all.

Notice how I said 2002. You can't compare a 93 to a 02, particularly when the price difference is as MASSIVE as it is in Japan.

The cheapest 6 speed TT 02 I found on that site is 4,053,000yen ($39k odd US)
The cheapest 6 speed TT 93 I found on that site is 1,638,000yen ($15k odd US)

I've read and understand your comment and the Link, but with all due respect, it's a bit irrelevant. I never once said that a comparable car to the one in the link would run you $40k. I was on the understanding that we were talking about strictly 98+ cars. If you can find me one landed in Canada for $20k then fair game.

This should help you some. Again, to clarify it for you, this link I posted is of a RHD not left ;) We are speaking of RHD as they come like that in Japan. Remember what the title of this thread is about? "Japan Supras"

I understood that too, I was just pointing out what's the point of going for that JSpec when for the same money you could have an export spec with a slightly better spec (stock for stock) and has the steering wheel on the right side (no pun intended).

I just don't see the point of buying an imported car with an inferior spec when they could have a USDM car with a better spec for a similar amount of money.

It just doesn't make sense unless you get a better spec (like a JZA70, or a substantial saving (like the GA70 i mentioned earlier).

Well, yea...how much did it cost you to import one?

I actually did not import the car myself, but the previous owner paid 7300 Canadian for it shipped to his city and then he had to pass out of province and a safety inspection. After all was said and done I think it was 7800 or so.

I paid a hair over $8k to purchase, and ship a MINT (except for some seat damage, which has since been fixed) JZA70 TT-R. That's including all taxes, and duty once it was over here too. The only thing it needed to pass safety was a new rear wiper arm ($3 at the junkyard), and new front brakes.

Shipping cost was split with a few other cars, as my friend brought over a container full.

That was a few years back, before the whole "OMG JDM" craze started pushing prices of the cars through the roof.

I have a RHD JZA70 TT-R and I don't find it very dangerous to drive at all. As long as you realise certain things are gonna take a bit more patience (like turning left) then there is no reason for it to be more dangerous. Being RHD also gives me a whole passenger side of the vehicle to get destroyed before I get fucked up if someone hits me from an oncoming lane.
