I'm considering purchasing a rebuilt engine from www.motortime.biz, who is a seller on ebay (motortimeusa). For $2000 I get the following, plus MHG and ARP studs. What are your opinions?

List of machining processes performed

- Engine and head cleaned
- Surfaces renewed by milling
- Blocks bored and honed
- Connecting Rods reconditioned
- New pin bushings installed
- Crank shaft ground and polished
- Cylinder heads pressure tested
- Cam lines checked
- Heads checked for thickness
- 3-Angel valve grind

List of new master rebuild kit parts installed

- New pistons
- New piston rings
- New rod bearings
- New main bearings
- New wrist pin bushings
- New oil pump
- New thrust bearings
- New head bolts
- New rear main seal
- New valve guides
- New valve seals
- New frost plugs
- New lifters.

There are pics on the ebay listing.

Thanks.

all depends on the parts they use... if they are cheap knock off stuff then no not worth it...

but as long as good pistons... toyota/npr or equal are used and good bearings and a good oil pump and the most importain...

did the person puting it together do it right ?????????????????....

but yes for 2k if the motor is done right..imho sure why not... lot easyer then doing yourself sometimes.. and quicker... i waited 3 weeks on machine shop to turn crank...

Check out legendofaces.com for comparison. I take delivery of my new longblock tomorrow. :) Pat's had a presence here for a long time, and all things considered, I felt this was my best option. So far everything has been great, and all build details are documented and shared - pics, specs and all. I should be up and running in a week or so with what I expect to be a A+++ review of my new 7M. Build thread is coming and I can't wait!

im not familiar with this ebay seller, but i personally have had very poor experiences buying rebuilt or remanufactured engines and heads.
i purchased a rebuilt head from aluminum head rebuilders about 5 years ago and found out the valve seats were not cut and the springs werent replaced... that head lasted maybe a year.
then about 3 years ago i got a re manufactured engine from Jasper. i eventually melted a piston (due to a faulty rc injector). but it turns out jasper cut too much material from the block and the head. they did a crappy job rebuilting the head. and they in no way followed toyotas tolerances.

if i were you, i would find a reputable machine shop that has had experience with the 7M, or try buying a rebuilt motor from a well known shop that someone you know can vouch for (legend of aces).

good luck

I'm really leaning towards legendsofaces now. Unless someone else can vouch for this ebay seller?
