I found this supra for $500, its an 86.5 with a "seized engine" but the body looks very clean from the pictures. The lady selling the car doesnt seem to know much about the car (said it was a 4 cylinder) and im doubting that the engine is seized. I asked her if it cranks and her response was "trust me its dead, if thats a problem dont bother sweetie". Is there a way i can tell if its seized or not? If its not seized i think im gonna just fix it and resell it, and if the motor is done then i might swap a 7mgte into it and sell my car or part it out. If anyone has any input it would be very appreciated

Take a ratchet and socket with you, and see if you can turn the crank by hand. If you can, you can rule out seized, but there are a myriad of problems that it could still have. These problems range from minor to major. If the body and interior look real serviceable, buy it and plan on a swap. Once through, don't part your car out. Sell it, and keep it alive. These cars are going away fast now.

I think it's either a 3/4" or 19MM. I don't even know if those are close to each other, but they are the ones that come to mind. Just make sure it fits your crankbolt before you go. 2 Supras is also a great idea for a couple of reasons. 1 we all know they don't run forever. 2. If you need to work on one, you have the other as a guide. That helps a lot.

there the same size-well for the garage mechanic, but for the die hard, ones metric, and ones standard.

I'm thinking it's a 21 for some reason, I'd go check but my car is at a friend's. Go check it on your car, it takes all of three seconds :p

i bought it today, the exterior was in good condition and the interior was good too. the motor could not be turned over by hand so im guessing its seized but i think its worth $500, ill take some pics when i pick it up friday hopefully
