JDM engines are a joke. They are second hand 15 year old engines. sweet....

Brandon, congratulations man!!!
Yes, you must post pics. Many of them. I'm glad to hear you got yourself into a supra. I didn't know you were without one. Nice purchase, whether it is homo blue or not.

I'd say for under 3k total investment you're gonna have a sweet car.

Did I mention Pics or Ban?

I post in every comment you post or whatever because I'm a post whore. Simple as that.

However, I don't quite know what you're getting at, JspecJDM7M88. I simply stated that for the money to make a JDM engine passible, given the fact that your current engine isn't totalled, you could perform quite the rebuild on your current engine.

Original owners? Less than a handful. I wouldn't put a junkyard engine in my car without completely going through it, so why is a Japanese junkyard any different?

End of discussion in the forum, though. Let's not clutter up Brandon's thread with useless chatter. Feel free to PM me if you want to continue.

I lov eyou kurt...you're amazing. Always watchin out for me aren't ya? lol

Yeah homo blue is right. Ehh it's not TOO bad. My cousin does professional paint (custom stuff) so I'm gonna have him take it down to bare metal, prime it, give it 3 coats of a REALLY dark grey (maybe with a blue pearl) and like 6 coats of clear coat. BLING! lol The body will remain mostly stock, aside from a sweet set of 18's (black with a mirror lip anyone?) to roll around on, and the stockers set up with drag radials.

The MOTOR on the other hand is a different story...when I go through the rebuild its gonna get a set of JE Forged pistons, crower rods, HKS MHG & ARP's (duh), 550's, MAFT Pro, Walbro 255, NGK's, etc....the whole works. In the future I'd like to run a bigger turbo, but that's further down the road. Hopefully by SILV :) :)

Oh yes...and definately pics-or I will banninate myself

I always knew there was something "odd" about you kurt...

Anyway, ended up waiting till today to buy the car. Paid the full $1000 for it. Took some pics and I'll upload them later :)

BTW, I'm stupid for looking at it in the dark the first few times. It's dark blue int. *slaps self* I dunno wtf I'm gonna do with a dark blue int. and a dark grey ext. *pukes*

Just ignore the 2 pics of me without a shirt on :greddy:lol

I'll post more pics later. Those pics were taken in the guys garage, I'm bringing it here in the morning with a tow truck, so I'll be sure to take some pics of the whole car...may rinse her off first. No sense in really "washing" her as she's just gonna get dirty again pullin the motor out and putting it back in :(

That'll give me a good chance to get everything nice and cleaned up though :) :)

Whoo! looks like you're in for a treat. Lots of new hoses and small shit here and there, I predict.

Nice seat covers, too!!

Cool.

While it is true that the TSRM is far more useful than the Hayne's manual, there have been a couple of occasions where the pics in the Haynes manual helped me figure out where something went (My Supra was largely in pieces when I bought it).

I forget if you specified -- are you specifically wanting to paint the exterior dark grey? I think that blue interior would look fine with black, or a dark enough grey. Though you can always get seat kits from http://www.leatherseats.com/ -- I'm thinking about getting something in leather and alcantara from them myself.

EDIT: They even have a Supra-specific page now -- http://www.leatherseats.com/Supra_leather_kit.asp . Unfortunately, they seem to have removed the option for alcantara.

It could certainly be worse -- it could be a burgundy interior. ;)

Actually I plan to put a pair of Sparco Torino seats in black and grey in it, so blue int. wouldn't look at all decent. Oh well.

Yes, the exterior is nearly 100% sure getting dark gray. "Comin down, candy paint, sprayed by dat eddy 12 coats o' dat clear lookin like some grape jelly" lol just a little Paul Wall for ya!! Recently I'm thinking of doing a silver though...seen a couple that've been re-sprayed in silver and they look "teh hawtness"
