Aside from poor grammar, your problem could be many things. Do you have more information? Did it work before pulling the engine, did you service the trans and take a look at the fluid? Did you make sure you got everything hooked back up right? I don't know any specifics about the A340, but we're still at Transmissions 101 with the info you gave.

The torque converter holds most of the fluid. Yes, it can be installed wrong, and if it's put on dry it can be damaged (if you're trying to drive it). You'll have to keep putting fluid in while the pump hopefully fills it. I've heard of cars that just would not fill the converter though.

Most of the reason you fill it is because it cuts down on time for a repair shop.

It is better to fill it before. You don't fill it all the way. I don't think the torque converter is installed correctly. Just a guess, I can't see the car from here. Or he has no fluid on the dipstick.

Maybe it is just the last time you try something you don't know how to do. You don't do surgery on knees on the side do you?

automatic trannys are picky iv seen a perfectly good working tranny completely stop working just from a fluid change or flush! car or truck drove in the shop and wouldn't even move outta the bay after the change even unreliable (not all but most) shops like midas jiffylube and grease monkey to name a few won't touch a high mileage transmission or a tranny that hasn't had the fluid regularly change because of this very simple fact.

how many miles are on the tranny and how dirty was the fluid that came out?
