Why don't more shop know about this hardness test and how important it is? Just seems like when I call around nobody know unless you explain it to them.

Gix, the valve seats are hardened tool steel inserts.

You need to strip ALL of the steel parts out guides and all then press em all back in afterwards!

I guess most shops don't specialise in Aluminium High performance heads so why would they know?

Even a soft head will be fine on a standard motor as long as it is treated right add some boost in and it's another story!
