building a 2jz

do you balance and blue print? do you use Hbeams and get after market pistons.
I am looking to get about 500-600hp out of a single turbo 2jzgte. and i was wondering if the bottom end should be built.

Honestly, unless you really want to I don't think you need to mess around with the bottom end at all for those kinda numbers. You of course can and it certainly won't be a bad thing but many many people are doing those numbers with totally stock (in good condition to begin with of course) bottom ends, for long periods of time.

Hell, alot of people are doing bigger numbers with stock bottom ends.

It's a scary tough motor!

For only 600whp, keep the stock bottom end. Stock head gasket will hold too.

I personally know several people making 700whp on stock bottom ends, and they have been doing it for years.

Ya? what about the top end? is there any weak links that should be modified?

You really need to research/search, the 2jz-gte is one if not the best engine for big power in stock form period. There are many cars running much more power than you want with the stock engine meaning there has been nothing done inside the engine.

The bottom end is very strong, the top end is just as strong or stonger.

If you are already doing a 2jz swap you should know this. :nono:

The only part I would be worried about is valve springs, and that's only if you plan on revving it past 8k on a regular basis.
