Build sheets? Does Toyota hide these?

Any idea if Toyota did build sheets on the Supra? If so, do you know where they put them? A lot of U.S. car manufactures stuck the original manufacture's build sheets under the seats, stuck between the springs and the foam.

For those who might not know what a build sheet is, its the paper that shows all the options on the car and codes like paint/interior codes.

I have never seen a build sheet for an import car. Even the American manufacturers stopped putting them in the cars sometime during the 80's.

I think they are stuck on the dash or the front seat of new cars. But when the dealer preps the car for delivery, they get tossed with all that protective plastic. I have the build sheet from my Altima SER.
Never seen one for a Supra though.

Isn't there a Toyota dealer around that sends you a copy of the window sticker if you send them your VIN..?

For the most part, Toyota only keeps those files for 10 years.....I have been able to pull up some older cars @ work for key code info or option info when doing a body order, but most are purged after 10 years.

GM puts RPO (option codes) on a white sticker in the glove box or in the trunk, never seen anything on my supra, though i never really looked.

when i was processing warranties for toyota a few yrs back i used dealer daily (the system we used to process warranties, pull up TSB's, check a vehicle to see if it has a pending TSB or not, etc.) to pull up the info on my 89 n/a. u could only go back so many yrs and i just barely made the deadline on doing this w/my all white package 89 n/a. still have the print out on it somewhere. its pretty much like a window sticker. also every letter and number in the VIN tells u pretty much everything there is to know about that vehicle (yr, make, model, options, etc).

my 89 all white package n/a was a san diego, ca even from the first time she was sold. original selling dealer was rose toyota. lol

I've still got the window sticker for my 90T that I bought new. I'll dig around and will see if I can find it and scan it.

As for build sheets, that's an American car thing as far as I know. I've found them in several of my American muscle cars, but never in an import.

My father purchased my 92 new as well. He traded in his 87 or 88 Turbo (can't remember which) for it, actually. I still have the original window sticker too. Unfortunately, it has faded some over the years. I believe the original sticker price was a little over $33,000. I can scan the sticker if anyone wants.

Don't misunderstand me. I don't have that car anymore. I got rid of it many years ago. I've owned many (over a dozen) Supras since then.

Yea build sheets seem to be american. and like someone already said Gm puts theirs somewhere in the car, but they are thrown out before the car is put on the line (at least at the 2 gm dealers I sold at)
