I know this is more of a Ghetto Mod, But has anyone Heard of Running your Window Washer Nozzles to The Front Bumper/Lip So You can Spray down your intercooler During Runs? Maybe with a fan shaped or Wide Washer Nozzle With some discreetly tucked Silicone line. I think I saw another Supra forum with a member who had done the mod But It wasn't a write up.

Its obviously not a professional replacement for a CO2 Sprayer or Fogger system But More of a Budget mod.

Yeah its been brought up various times, usually using the headlight washers though not the windsheild washers. No one has yet made a write up though.

(Didn't mean too But My Computer is Running Slow at Work) I Can See why Someone would want to use the Headlight Washers, Since they are much less Visible, But I think it'd be a fairly easy setup Either way around. If I wind up ordering some wide washer nozzles I Will try and Do a Quick Setup and Shoot with my new digicam. With The Windscreen Washer nozzles Plugged or filled, and Then Mounted on the lower Bumper to Give a good spraydown on my intercooler. :evil2:

RedComet13, Why did you make 2 threads about this ? :3d_frown::3d_frown:
why in the hell do YOU care is the real question...:nono:

to the op- Mitsubishi did it on the evo 8's man...pretty good little idea if you ask me...water has cooling properties far superior to air and every little bit helps as far as fighting heat soak goes.

I went to ace and bought the small mist system package, gave you 5 nozzles and 12ft of line for $15 bucks then i got a double sided barbed fitting and cut the rubber hose and connected it all. I painted it black and used black zipties and connect it to the frame. If there is enough interest ill do a write up. It was super easy. I even found a pressure switch that you could rig up too if people are interested. Just let me know, and ill so it.

Just to add to this:

7M-GE+T guys who are running the N/A electronics could use the ACIS VSV's wiring to trigger the spray setup.

MAFT Pro users could use the ETPS feature as a trigger if you add a comparator.

If you build such a set up to spray liquid on your intercooler, and then use it at any dragstrip in the country, they will most likely kick you out and ask you not to come back for dripping liquid onto the track. The guy who runs in the same lane after you do maybe a bit upset if he wreaks his car from you watering down the lane.

I'd only use a Professional Setup like the CryO System or a nos fogger system if I was going to use it at the strip. But A majority of the driving I do is "Spirited" Street driving :naughty: haha So I will make due with The Cheap stuff for now.

yeeeaaaa....thanks for the tip, but ratio of dragstrip mk3s to not..what - 1000:1? ;] since my facia was replaced with a "non squirter equipped" one...this is a pretty cool little mod. i could even use the nozzles off my parts car......

I was just thinking about this the other day when i was removing my header panel on my 87.I wonder if there is anything else you could spray besides water to keep the surface of the intercooler even colder? Would something like prestone de-icer have a different effect?

hmmm.....ice water? lol i'm not really sure of anything with better heat dissipation properties in an application such as this....perhaps some one else does though.

There is a local shop that sprays down intercoolers with rubbing alcohol between runs. It seems to eliminate heat soak.

Ding ding ding. Thats the winner. I also thought about the headlight squirters. But isoprophol (If thats right) might be a little hard on the pump? Spray some iso on your hands to see the effects.
