One side of my glovebox hinges were broken and the other was cracking too. Do I search for another from salvage and have the same weak, old plastic? No. I'll make it better! So I cut off most of the plastic from the glovebox and the cut four strips of aluminum about 1/2" wide. Drilled and used 4mm bolts with flat washers and lock washers on inside. Still opens and close nice and smooth. If the plastic part that screws to the dash breaks I could do basically the same for it. Sure it could be done better and cleaner, but you don't see it and this was so simple and took like fifteen minutes.
