Something I did today in about an hour and a half. Plastidip, then some high gloss clear. Best thing is you can peel it of if you don't like it. If I were to do it again I would use some low gloss clear.

Plastidip and clear was in a spray can. The lower windshield trim is just plastidip with no clear. It has a nice matte finish.

Looks good I was just thinking about doing something like this but didn't know how to approach it exactly. Do you think the stuff you used will hold up the test of time?

you CLEARCOATED plasti dip?!:aigo:

that's pretty useless, plasti-dip isnt paint, no need to clear it. that idea of peeling it off if you dont like it doesnt really apply when you spray clear on it...:nono:

that being said, plasti-dipping the trim sounds good.

if you can plasti-dip wheels and tools and grills just fine, your window trim can take it without clear.

Things other then paint, like plastics, get damaged from constant exposure to Sunlight and UV rays. Clearcoat will reduce this. Thats why people clearcoat headlights after polishing them.

It will still peel off if you clearcoat it. Paint is very thin.

They should have it at OSH or the home depot. Im going to go to a couple stores to find low gloss or matte clear such as this...

I painted the pillar and lower window trim last night. First I got a sharp hobby knife and cut the flaky molding back. I left about 2-3 mm of material from the seal. No clear. Yet.

Looks quite nice man, thanks for sharing. I may do this before I paint the shell...
