HELP.

My bride seat rail just jammed....very odd....it was working this morning....

I got a bride brix series one in from japan....great condition...it came with a 240sx slider/bracket assymbly. Went over to a friends shop and welded some new rails on the existing bracket ( too keep alignment dead on). Worked like a charm.

I got to install it today....almost breaking my back with teh stocker 80/lbs seat....ugh

Has anyone ever had a seat rail ( aftermarket) jam on them and then were you able to fix it?

I got the rail to fit perfectly and all....everything is beautiful....but since I cannot get the seat to move UP twords the front I cannot bolt in the back bolts.......so its useless...

I called Fizz autosports in NY....they quoted me $170+shipping for a brand new rail......but NONE in stock for the USA...special order from japan and 4-6 weeks to get it!!!!!!!!!

Help me out....I know someone has had this problem

thanks,

Jonathan

How complicated is the rail?
I'll answer that: Not. It is not complicated.
Just pull it out of the car, and frig with it. Something's gotta be stuck in it....

Guys, i didnt keep the seat in the car....I put the stocker back in ( and nearly broke my back in doing so).

Then last night my brother got his wheels in for his Z car......and I was sitting in my Bride seat last night ( attached to the seat rails)...I just pulled up the adjusting lever....and it worked....

the darn thing WORKS NOW......for no reason at all it just started working...

Thank you Jesus!

Mario,

I will....LOL I will drive the supra on a road corse of gold :)

I just got the seat in and took it for a spin. I had to adjust the steering wheel down and scoot the seat forward a bit.

I sit about 1-2" lower!! ITS SO AWSOME FEELING! I can feel the car hug the corners better since my weight ( all 170lbs and 6'2" of me) is lower in the center of gravity....much less the Bride seat weighs only 19lbs....the stocker is about 80 ( i will put it on the scales tonight to actually weight the sucker)....thats ALOT of weight out of the center of the car...and now the weight is lower, no wonder the car litterally FEELS better into turns!

even the shifter is in the perfect location now....I can heel toe better!!!!

I hit a bird though on the backroad....little chickadee R.I.P.....

anywho, I will take pics tommorow.

I am home sick. I have a sinus infection....LOL

RIGHT, sinus infection, ;)

I am not joking. I had some sores on the back of my tongue starting to develope ( not those type of soars....jeesh), it was from the mucas membranes overreacting.....and the mucas got infected and here I am, barely able to talk and swallow......really really bad.

It was worse at work....they did a huge total hip today.....and my boss picked little ol' me to clean all the tools....

My sink looked like somone's leg had been put into a blender and poured onto 10's of big instruments and all soaked in water...(actually thats what they do...they take out the femur sometimes totally and put little chease grater looking things on the rotators...makes it nice and even then they put the new piece(s).
Really cool surgery....another cool one is the Total Knee....
..my cleaning toothbrush was covered in flesh and meat....It made me nearly throw up ( for the first time ever cleaning I got sick at my stomach).....But someone had to do it...and I think of the patient in those times......I know they were in pain and will be in pain for quite sometime, but I am in the line of healthcare where things must be done for a reason....and no clean tools or properly packaged or sterilized equipment means NO surgeries....

No mario.........I am not joking :)

Well if you have never put a real nice aftermarket seat in your car with custom bracketry to sit that low...you will never understand.

Its just one of those things you must experiance or do for yourself to truely respect it.

i still say just pull it out and mess around with it. get a small flatblade screwdriver and pry around in there, making sure not to damage anything.

and the stock driver's seat isnt that difficult to move in and out of the car! ya gotsta get some muscles man! ;)

It works perfecly now Shaeff! Its weird....I think the pressure of my small buttocks on the sliders somehow dislodged the mechanism to where it started to work again....

I do need to take it out and paint the new bracketry...its nude steel right now:icon_razz

You wanna get rid of those soars?
Jack daneils.
cures that shit quick.

I was actually thinking about getting some tonic....the alcohol would kill it dead!

Anywho, here is the seat installed. Pardon the bad weather...it made the pictures look kind of off color....weird...
I got a new shift knob and e-brake button from Kazama Auto ( had to get it shipped from japan like they did in the fast and furious :hsugh: )
Its way better actuating than the Cusco E-Brake button I had earlier..this one clicks into place easy...where the cusco was a bit stiff and hard due to extra metal making friction...

I am getting a 4 point harness really soon, like this week....its going to be either a Sabelt or a Willans.

how much did those seats run ya? I'd like to get a set of new seats but everyone says all the aftermarket ones lift you up... i can't be having that as I'm already about as high as I can get (I'm 6'8)

You cant buy this generation bride brix anymore...they stopped producing THIS model in 2002.

I have the first gen. Brix, with NO bride logo on the head rest area...but gradation it has! Its real, not fake...check my other threads for the pictures.

I only got this one...they are VERY rare and hard to come by in this particular shape....this one was made in 97' I do believe.

I called options auto salon and Fizz auto and they both said Bride did not have ANY Mk3 Brix/reclinable seat rails in stock ANYWHERE....it would be 4-8 weeks to get them and $190 shipped....thats INSANE.

So I modified the 240sx rail to fit. Easy as 1.2.3. Just welded on 2 bars of steel ( bent them to the angle of the original seat mounting points), got some 1" spacers from Lowes and extra long bolts. Fits like a charm!!!!

And even with the 1" spacers ( raises the seat 1" ) its still 2" LOWER than the factory seat. It makes me feel better though I have MORE headroom!!!!

Now bride DOES have the new Lowmax seats and rails out now for any make/model including the Mk3 ( asked the shops that question too!). Though they are a bit pricey, that MAY just do it for you Justin!

Hope that helps clarify things!

PS: I had the new bride brix 2 ( fake ebay ones...but were IDENTICLE to the real Bride Brix 2's, compared them to my buddies real ones in his STi). They sat alot harder.....the shoulder wings were closer in and the bottem hip bolsters were tighter....didnt fit me....wont fit you!

This older style fits so much better!

The new brix though can be substituded for the XAX ( wider and less bolstering for bigger guys/gals)....they still run for around $900 shipped A PIECE.
