I don't think you'll find much of that in the Mk3 world aside from the occasional Motec cluster setups... Unless you're looking for something like Hommer's. :puke:

Thought about doing a dash pad and center console in fiberglass... making better use of the space around the radio, as well as building in a couple of cup holders. Yeah, I said "cupholders."

Meant to go to a junkyard and get a center console from another car which has the features/fitment. Then further customizing/blending into our interiors. Ain't gonna get to it for awhile.

Also, this customization would allow me to use a different/newer/digital cluster out of another car. I am going to use an electronic speed sender with my tranny and will be able to use a newer one... Like in the newer Acuras. I am not using many of the stock gauges in the dash anyways...

There's a reason it's called a dash PAD...

I thought I had pics of the sheetmetal dash in one of the drag cars from one of the TX2K meets but can't find it. Car was full on drag car, no interior, cage, racing seat, etc...

I always wondered why they called them a dash pad... Ever try to clean your windows from the driver seat? I can't imagine a person's head is going to fit between the windshield and steering wheel and have enough space left to get to the dash? Now, the passenger side I can see that happening...

Yeah, I suppose so... IIRC, steering columns are supposed to collapse as well, to reduce chest injuries? Makes sense to make squishy dashes I suppose...

It's why most modern cars have hard dashes now, airbags replaced the need for them to be soft (thus being made of cheap shit). Always makes me wonder why modern cars are so much heavier when their interior panels are so much lighter and cheaper than old cars...

Here's mine.

It retains the center vents. I might redesign it to keep the driver's side vent, but it'll change the layout of the gauges...
