I just replaced my front brake pads with OEM Toyota pads, and now whenever I lightly press the brake pedal at lower speeds, the front driver's side squeals...what's going on? The passenger side doesn't squeal, and it stops great.
Per years of my brake job experiences, and per "motor" magazine article.........brake squeal has been a problem since brakes were invented. Some cars will always have it, others only at certain times, or pads, or dirt, or dust, or ...........
Did you replace the rotors or have them resurfaced? Did you clean and re-lube the caliper sliders? Either of those things could be causing it, or possibly the caliper is getting sticky.
I cleaned and re-lubed the sliders VERY well...lol...but I did not re-surface the rotors...they felt very smooth, like you almost couldn't feel anything with your finger nail. I also cleaned everyting very well with Brakleen. The worn out pads were also OEM Toyota BTW.
