I dont know a whole lot about brakes but i noticed if i push and release the pedal several times while in motion, pumping it, it gets progressively harder to slow the car, and the pedal stiffens up more and more. i didn't do it for a long time, just a few pumps, less than 6.

i just wanted to check to see if this is normal....

thanks. lol....

Its normal.

Supras use a vaccuum assisted brake, each time you use the brake you use a little bit of that vaccuum pressure.

It shouldnt get noticeably harder while your engines running though, maybe if you pump the pedal fast.

It draws the air/pressure from the rubber hose that runs from the brake booster to the intake manifold. Theres a one way check valve inside, try blowing through both ways and see what happens, air should only go through towards the booster if I know what Im talking about.

yeah i pumped it quickly. after a few seconds it was back to basically normal again. i might check the airflow later if i get a chance.

nope, no ABS. i was just goofing around BTW. wanted to see what it would do i suppose...not really sure why. i think i was riding the brakes to get them to stop squealing and after a few depressions it felt a little funny so i pumped it more rapidly and noticed that...

hard to remember though....
