Okay to start off with the guy that had the car before me had an aftermarket alarm system in the car but it didnt work when i got it. Go figure. Well there were alot of other things that didnt work electronically and alot of stuff was spliced. So i replaced the engine wiring harness and removed the aftermarket alarm system. I checked the fuses, lightbulbs, lightbulb assembly, brake light switch. all of them work and have power to them. light bulbs are new and fuses are new and good too. all other lights work. Just no brake lights. I am stumped. i dont have a tsrm but i looked at a buddys and it didnt help me out at all. i didnt get to look through it much though. is there something im missing. i followed the wires from the brake light switch and it went into the harness. I dont want to have to run new wires and have splicing in places i dont need it. please help!! Thanks Josh

Try your Lamp Failure Sensor. I had my tail lights go out "mysteriously" and turned out the box was bad. Try jumping the connections for the brake lights as per tsrm and see if they turn on, if so its the lfs. So give it a try...
Good luck

It might be a bad brake light switch... mine stayed on, even with car switched off. Had to re-adjust it all the way to pedal, can't see how it was out of adj, as it was still very tight. I think a new one is in the works for me.

Yep, I concur on looking into the failure box and the pedal switch. Those are the two most likely spots for the failure you are talking about.
