Hi guys !!
Soon I will make a presantation of my 2jzgte mk3 91 supra...working some
bugs and some small details :sarcasm:
I always wanted to improve my braking capability, and stoping the heavy mk3
supra anytime....
I know, just buy a big brake kit.Well a good 6 pot big brake kit goes for more
than $ 3000 usd...like Brembo!
I did some research on brakes and I found that euro & usa spec Jza80 mk4 supras (four pot calipers,330mm discs) are big 'animals'...:aigo:
They have been tested to be better than any 6 pot caliper in the market, and the answer is on the cylinder (pot) diameter which is huge, almost 2.5 inches
diameter X 4 cylinders these things kicks ass :icon_bigg
For the rear I bought new rotors,Ferodo race (street) pads,Goodridge steel
brake lines, checked & painted black rear caliper...just for a complete
allaround brake upgrade !
For the history the mk4 supra had the best braking 120km/h-0 stopping
times than any production cars until the Porsche GT ($ 400.000 dollars car)
came up and made some better times :icon_surp
Mk4 turbo guys...keep their OEM brakes (at least the front) even when
they reach big Hp numbers like 600 - 700 whp !! :aigo:
Anyway...these front 4 pot/cylinder brakes are great.
Made from Toyota JDM Sumitomo, and I got the hall set new from Toyota : (transformed the euro currency to USD)
# 2 four pot calipers ....................for $ 800 USD
# 2 rotors/discs...........................for $ 200 USD
# 4 Brake pads............................for $ 70 USD
# 2 Disc brake dust covers............for $ 65 USD
# All the shims,pins,covers,bolts,
s,clips,anti rattle springs,etc.,...for $ 55 USD
Also order Goodridge steel brake lines for $ 110 USD,but I will have to take
the front lines to make custom fittings on the one side/end for the mk4 brake caliper, while the other end of the line fits Ok!
And last I should get 2 custom adaptors for the front mk4 calipers, and 2
inserts for the front rotors to seat true on the axle hub cause mk4 hub
diameter is 62mm and the mk3 diameter is 60mm :icon_bigg
Tell me what you guys think about this upgrade/mod.But still an OEM mod
:icon_bigg:biglaugh::biglaugh:
Some photos I took...:sarcasm:
