Hey Guys Im already collecting parts for my Front Brake Duct mod that I read about on here a month or two back, When I get All those together I will post up some pics. But In the mean time I was gifted an ARC Windmaster from a friend that got rear ended pretty wicked So now I have a bit of rice sitting around that I can put to use on my duct mod. This is what i have in mind, I want to Cool off the rear brakes possibly by putting a Type of Ducting under the (Rear Quarter Panel??) just in front of the rear tire And Possibly Securing The WINDMASTER To the fenderwell To Prevent rocks and Road debris from chipping up my rims and such. What I want to know is, IS there anyone who has a good Quality Duct mounted into that area? Pics, Suggestions? :1zhelp:

you might be out of luck putting the duct in front of the rear wheels (similar to the MK4). There is a lot of reinforcing sheet metal in that area (moreso for the targa body) and the chassis likely wouldn't take kindly to having it removed.

Yeah Im sure the Body work Would be a bitch But I've seen it on a build once and I thought it looked great, But I Don't want to Have lots of Chassis Flex Where i don't need it just to Cool down the rears. (Non-Targa Btw)

Focus on the fronts as they do most of the work (and if they fade while the back locks up you'll end up in a ditch).

The ARC Windmasters were made for the front anyway...

So Do you think the addition of the ARC Windmaster plus Ducting to the brake dust Shield Would be over kill or Cause somekind of Uneven wear on the brakes? That might be an option a I have to try to check the results...

im running 3 inch hose in the front and 2 1/2 in the back. the rear hose comes in from the side windows and enters the underside of the car right underneath where the rear seats would be. not familiar with the arc part. the fronts is where most of the ducting is needed as 70% of your braking is done up there. be sure to direct the duct toward the center of the rotor as best you can. also wheel to caliper clearance is important on cooling the rotor. the factory calipers have a air outlet in the middle and this can be obstructed with a tight wheel to caliper clearance.

edit looked up the wind masters i dont see how they would do anything for the brakes. you will never over cool the front rotors if you are driving appropriately.

So Suprguru Do you have the hoses Running through Naca Ducts Through the quarter panel windows? Lexan Replacements? Or do You have the Hose Mounted outside the vehicle? Pics would help lol

naca ducts mounted in lexan in the quarter windows for the rear. for the front they are ran from holes in the bumper. the front is the easiest to run however you have to wedge the hose between the sway bar and tierod. aircraft spruce sells aluminum flange adapters that work well when bolted to factory dust shields.

you can see the rear naca ducts here. note they are duals only so i can run one to the differential

I have a upgraded brake kit on my car and do occasional time attacks. Would you guys loose the backplates on the spindles ?
I have the spindle disassaembled as i'm changing the wheel bearing and cleaning up the spindle from any rust and adding a coat of paint , so now would be the time . thanks

Who made the windows? I may be interested in a pair, that's a really good idea...

I made them of course lol. I would measure your rear rotor temperatures before adding the ducts in the rear however as my rear brakes are now over cooled.

Very cool. I am going to have to look into this. I will do my research before diving into it, but I have been trying to find a solution for the future diff cooler in my black car, and this is probably it. Keeping it off the ground is key to it's survival.

OK, back on topic :D
