alright so look I did a boost leak test and for some reason air slips out from my bov flange it has that little o ring gasket in there and it looks good but air still comes up around the bov and flange were the snap ring is located it's pretty odd to me anyone have a solution or idea so I can stop this from happening.

thanks
Michael

If it's seating properly and the snap ring is too then just go to a good hardware store and find a new O-ring of the same diameter but thicker.

I've notice that on many setups, configuration makes a difference. Many smaller quick spooling turbos build boost at lower rpms ( density, flow, pressure, engine health and so forth) tend to have a louder vent noise. Check for boost leaks as I have seen pressure seeping before it's being vented. I see function before all. I will not just buy something for show.

Yes I agree and like I said I did a boost leak test and it's leaking through the neck of the flange were the o-ring is.

You sure its the o ring?,Or is it possibly the c clip ? I just did a HKS BOV install on my buddies car, and the c clip had a obvious top and bottom side with tapered edges (no doubt for a better fit), and would only seat down in the flange groove one way, so it was'nt hard to figure out, lol. The o ring was a pain though, had to try several times to get it down in its groove real good, and it kept wanting to pop back out. I understand your frustration though, all too well. Just do the above mentioned advice and get a better o ring, and work it down in the groove good. If you dont have a grooved flange then I wish you the best in finding the perfect o ring..it can be a pain.

my hks ssqv is plenty loud, i am running slightly higher boost than you (20psi) and a slightly larger turbo (jt61gt) also i dont have a boost leak at my flange. so heres how to make your bov louder....

1. fix the leak
2. turn up the boost (you have an fcd and it looks like the supporting mods)
3. get a bigger turbo

this is equal a louder noise. your other option is get a different bov. the greddy s is pretty loud and the RFL is very loud but you are overlooking why the valve is there, to properly vent compressed air when you close the TB. past that its personal preference.
